Quokka at Rottnest Island

I’ve been using the Sony FE 90mm G OSS macro lens as my primary underwater macro photography tool since late 2018. I’m satisfied with the lens overall, though I note challenges with autofocus in low-light underwater conditions using the Sony A7rIII camera.

A video review by Christopher Frost concludes that the Sony 90 mm is just about the perfect macro lens, providing technical analysis of sharpness, vignetting, and distortion.

Terrestrial Use

I tested the lens above water during a photography session with quokkas at Rottnest Island in Western Australia, capturing images at f/2.8 to evaluate background blur characteristics.
